Right at Home of Washington, DC is a locally owned and operated national organization of Right at Home Inc., a home care and staffing company providing care since 1995. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. We do that by providing high quality in-home caregivers to serve you.

Personalized Solutions
Right At Home is an affordable solution for you or your loved one. We provide non-medical, private duty services completely based upon your unique situation. We develop an individual care plan, which is monitored through frequent home visits to ensure services provided by the caregivers continue to match our client's changing needs. As your needs change, so will our services. Services are provided in as little as 4 hours a day up to 24 hours every day.

Caregivers focus on helping individuals maintain their independence and dignity while assisting with a variety of everyday tasks including:

  • Meal Preparation and Nutrition Reminders
  • Errands and Shopping
  • Escorted transportation to appointments
  • Standby Assistance with Dressing/Undressing
  • Standby Assistance with Bathing/Showering/Walking
  • Medication Reminders
  • Laundry/Light Housekeeping
  • Exercise reminders
  • Companionship and Socialization activities

Prior to starting service, we consult with the new client and their family members either in their residence or in a healthcare facility.

Services are offered in a number of locations, including:

  • Private residences
  • Independent Living facilities
  • Assisted Living facilities
  • Skilled Nursing facilities and Rehabilitation centers
  • Hospitals

Flexibility and Communication
Once the care plan is developed, we identify a caregiver from our staff who we believe is most suited to care for the client, and can best meet the client's needs. Our goal is to maintain a consistent caregiver for each client. This allows the caregiver to become very knowledgeable of the client's needs and helps build a good relationship between the client and caregiver. Our Client Care Coordinator maintains ongoing communications between a designated family member and the caregiver to discuss and modify the services provided.

Clients and their families have used our services for many reasons:

  • Short-term support at home after a hospital stay
  • Respite care to relieve family caregivers
  • Assistance for loved one who can no longer stay alone
  • Alzheimer's care

Quality Care

  • All our caregivers are employees of Right at Home; not independent contractors.
  • Our caregivers are thoroughly screened prior to hiring, including a full criminal background check, reference checks, employment eligibility verification, and a comprehensive competency test.
  • Our orientation process ensures they clearly understand how to meet clients' needs in a respectful and compassionate manner.
  • We provide ongoing training of our caregivers, through our proprietary caregiver training program.
  • Our employees are bonded and covered by Professional Liability and Workers Compensation insurance.
